Metal Injection Moulding uses the shaping
advantages of conventional Injection Moulding. This method is
applicable for metals and ceramics.
In Metal Injection Moulding (MIM) a small
quantity of polymer is mixed with metal powder to form a feedstock that
can be moulded. After moulding, the polymer binder is extracted and the
powder shaped component is sintered.
Through Metal Injection Moulding, structural
materials are obtained using injection moulding previously restricted
to polymers.
