Is MIM an alternative to conventional processes like Investment Casting, Forging or Powder Metallurgy?
The choice of MIM as a manufacturing route is dictated by various parameters like shape, complexity, quantity, final physical properties among others. There are lots of small complex components that can be shifted to MIM route from investment casting, forging or powder metallurgy. How has KMT developed competency in MIM?
KMT has worked with scientists from Department of Science and Technology of the Indian Government to develop the MIM technology. KMT is the first Indian company to deploy indigenously developed MIM technology. |

What equipment and facilities does KMT have?
KMT has injection moulding machines, Debinding and Sintering Furnace. For mould making KMT’s tool room has EDM Wire Cut machines, milling machine, lathe and a vertical machining centre. |
