Is MIM an alternative to conventional processes like Investment Casting, Forging or Powder Metallurgy?
The choice of MIM as a manufacturing route is dictated by various parameters like shape, complexity, quantity, final physical properties among others. There are lots of small complex components that can be shifted to MIM route from investment casting, forging or powder metallurgy. However, MIM is not an absolute alternative to conventional manufacturing processes. |
